Islam 14

Now I remember a list called " Top 10 Misconceptions About Islam "
It was a really bad list full of lies about Islam the list's goal was to fool us and to show us how peaceful Islam is and that jihadists are not doing what islam teach , I agree that Islam was. Peaceful at the biggening when Muhammad was weak ( what else can he do ??) but later when he became stronger and he got many believers he changed his message into killing and beating , al tawbah verse contain a lot of dangerous verses like ( fight those who do not believe in allah nor Muhammad ) the verse didn't say kill those who fight u it simply say fight those who ( DO NOT BELIEVE ) in the Islam and Muhammad and ofc Allah ,,
Listverse is supporting Islam fort an unknown reason they keep lying and praising Islam and now they featured a muslim's woman comment full of lies and the same excuse Muslims usually say when ever a TRUE FOLLOWER OF ISLAM TEACHES KILL SOMEONE OR RAPE SOMEONE
I wonder why Listverse are doing this 🤔

not only is the burqa a security risk, it's also very disturbing to look at and makes people feel uneasy....

Forget the clothing, ban the religion and it's followers.

I completely agree with the mayor in #10. Getting kicked off a beach for wearing a curtain and a ninja mask is way better than getting stoned to death for wearing a two-piece.

OK so I can't believe Turkey was left off this list. Turkey had banned the HIJAB in universities, schools and government buildings until an Islamist came to power recently. That's right Ataturk knew in the 1920's that women would never have equality if they were forced to cover themselves and and their bodies and hair were treated like something that one should be ashamed of. Recently Kosovo (a majority Muslims county) also banned wearing the hijab because they knew that wearing it has nothing to due with Islam and is an ARAB cultural element. Therefore it has no place in Western European Islam.
The niqab or the complete covering it completely made up and needs to be banned internationally. It's not religious, it's not historical. It is a Saudi invention that only became mandatory there only in 1980s ! That's right this religious item is 30 years old and was implemented after the Grand Mosques Seizure in Saudi Arabia in 1979 when Saudi Arabia decided to give into religious fundamentalism and forcing women to cover themselves and removed them from public life all together, So anyone supporting this garment as religious and traditional is completely wrong.
The Koran NEVER mentions covering up ones hair in fact it simply state "“...and not display their beauty except what is apparent, and they should place their veil over their bosoms...” that's right if the Koran is truly the word of God then God is simply telling you to cover up your boobs if God wanted you to cover your hair he would have mentioned it in the passage which he doesn't. That;s it the rest of the veil's mentioning's are in the Hadith.
The fact is whenever the veil enters society women's rights are slowly eroded. It begins with covering your hair, then the women that refuse to cover themselves are called whores and teased, which is encouraged by other fundamentalist men (that's exactly what happened in Palestine) until eventually women are forced into covering their hair. Then it is a slow descent into women being segregated in schools, and not being allowed to participate in sports ect ect. Europe needs to ban all head coverings. If you want to be modest cover your arms and legs but covering your hair on the basis of "it's our religion" is ridiculous because it's not. Europe needs to take back Islam before it continues down it's self destructive path and it is too late. Eventually Europe will begin to look like Egypt where they are constantly fighting an Islamic insurgency within their own borders.

They do look like ghosts/ninjas. Silly rather than scary.

Why the debate over this by the way ? When western women go to conservative islamic countries they have to dress a certain way and cover their hairs ... Why must muslims wearing their religious/cultural garment receive a special treatment when they go out ? They seem to like that "Our Land, Our Rules" thing ... They must know it goes both ways, not just when it suits them.

I find it hard to disagree with the above regulations a cut off point absolutely must exist.

how does this stop terrorism? give me one logical actual reason on how this stops islam or terrorism or else i'll keep my opinion that this is moronic muslim panic. isis isn't going to not attack just cause you don't let them wear certain things. and people aren't going to give up their religion just cause of a clothing code. and whether or not you like it people have a human right to wear what they want

Except if it conceals your face. Try entering a bank with a full bike helmet.

We have rules about concealing your identity with masks and such—if the niqab conceals your face you should have to pull it aside when entering public buildings or any place where security is an issue. There is no such thing as personal freedom; we live in a society that is engineered to protect all citizens, not just the religious folks. Sure you can wear what you want, but you must also be willing to make allowances.

Regarding concealment of the face - I would argue that there is also significance to the way it is literally a physical barrier that separates ideologies, a physical barrier to integration (a barrier to both directions - ease of integration and ease of acceptance), that it also covers the face (an incredibly important part of inter-personal communication and understanding) exacerbates the issue. Im finding it hard to find the best words to describe what I mean...I hope Im putting it across right.

I know exactly what you mean; it robs women of their identity, makes them more like chattel. I hate them personally. But having rules that outright ban them is likely worse.

                                                  • Avatar

There is an element of "identity removal", but what I was getting at was a more society-wide effect.
I would wager that a community (that is, any arbitrary community) would find it far, far easier to socially accept (on an animal level) an influs of strange new foreigners if they do not come with their faces concealed.
The face is such a large part of the way that humans interact with each other, it is hard to see a formal face covering as anything other than a literal attempt to distance themselves.
In other words, face covering is not just a symptom of how different muslims are, it is literally part of the problem.

I agree. The answer isn't a ban though; it's education. I've noticed that our immigrants, the moms might wear the full gear, but the daughters, they don't.
Of course there's a danger there too; we had the man who murdered his ex-wife and two daughters because of the bullshit of family honour. But then again, no religion based laws are required, he and his cohorts are all in jail for the foreseeable future. Better identifying those at risk should be a priority as well as reaching out to the immigrant community, letting them know, in their language, where the shelters are and how to get hold of them.

Ugh..."honour" killings...the irony is so concentrated that a snarky jibe would just seem superfluous.
I'd point out that daughters are not required to wear concealment until they "come of age". I see plenty of fully-covered up schoolgirls around London, normal teenagers for the most part, just with a disguise. Though as you say, there are also plenty of them that don't take it up (or are not "encouraged" to do so).
I have less objections against a ban [on face covering] as it is an issue even for non-muslims, but yes, education, education, education.
Unfortunately, you cannot force people to *want* to be educated, which kinda cuts that solution off at the knees.

You can in Canada. You can even go to jail for not making your children go to school. And they must (except in some backward prairie provinces) teach a proscribed lesson plan even if they're home-schooled.
In practicality it's not enforced near often enough, but I have seen it happen.

I would generally agree, but not being able to identify the person you are talking to doesn't really fit into society.
I'd love to spend all day in a Darth Vader mask, but alas, The Jedi Order is yet to take its rightful place as an acceptable religion.
