- This ^^. Forget muslim issues, clearly there is a problem with face concealment being acceptable in everyday society. If humans were perfect and there was no crime anywhere ever, I'd be all for it, wear what you like, but we aren't so we can't.

Not without arousing justifiable suspicion, no.Mid you, bring in adverse weather and the issue gets more complicated.

Stores, restaurants and other businesses have the right to set a dress code for the people shopping/eating/working there. Teachers should never be wearing that sort of veils or any other outwardly religious items in public schools. Private schools can of course make their own decisions, within the law, about dress codes. Outside of places that require heightened security, government offices, banks etc the government shouldn't be trying to tell people how to dress. France has a ban on the head scarf (hijab) in their public schools. They also ban Christian, Jewish and other religious symbols. This is fine, but if a woman chooses to wear a burka in public where there is no need to see her face then that should be her decision. If it is her decision, and not her husband or father etc forcing her to dress like that.

Judging from many stories I've heard from friends flying from Saudi Arabia, when the plane left Saudi air space, all the women were lining to the toilets, going in with a Muslim dress, head scarf and all, and coming out with the latest French fashion wear! Plus makeup!
That alone, I believe, shows how much the Muslim dress code is their decision!

There is no security reason if you're actually worried about women terrorists—they'll just take them off. They're either brain-washed/trained or they're being coerced by threat of violence to family. They're not worrying about the dress code. Often they're not even the ones pushing the button.
Men dressed as women is more of a real threat. Concealing weapons under robes is not a whole lot more practical than hiding 'em under a long coat--so that's a wash too.
Planet Earth Mom424 • 9 days ago
"Coerced by threat of Violence " What from the Religion of Peace how shocking . How would you feel if everyday is Halloween what if all the criminals are wearing mask ? Didn't Isis just banded the Burka cause someone dress in a burka killed a bunch of their leaders lately .Hey did you heard about the Muslim they stop in front of one of the biggest church in France with a car wired to blow up a few days ago ? Or are you just watching CBC ?
Hillyard Planet Earth • 9 days ago
I mentioned that. In places that require heightened security the full face veil and the burka, along with motorcycle helmets or anything the obscures the face of the person, should be banned.
Surya • 9 days ago
Let ISIS have their way. Let them make an Islamic paradise, where Islamists can live peacefully everafter with all their hijab, niqab, burqa, talaq and everything written in that 1500 year old book.
Just do not come out in the open to play. The world is a far more beautiful place than where to roam around with your face and hair covered. Let your hair flow. Let your face shine in the sunlight. You are beautiful. Let us see who you are.
Let the CCTV cameras see who you are.
Jonno Surya • 9 days ago
Where exactly they'll make the paradise? At your country? definitely not my country.
Patient0 • 9 days ago
Banning the full-face veil won't do jack shit when it comes to combat terrorrism. The ban itself is not completely wrong, but the reasons advanced by many for doing so are completely biased and moronic.
ManOhMan • 9 days ago
Just in time for the 9/11 anniversary. This list brought to you by the Islamic Propoganda Society. Not only should they ban Islamic dress, all western countries should ban Muslims. You know, considering they have declared war on us about 7500 times and their "holy" book and traditions clearly talk about killing those sane enough not to believe them.Islam is a barbaric, misogynist, tribal, backwards death cult that should be destroyed.
Hillyard ManOhMan • 9 days ago
Congratulations! You win today's Donald J. Trump Chump Award for internet stupidity.
ManOhMan Hillyard • 9 days ago
Islam is a death cult, read the Quran, read its traditions, read its media. Being smugly ignorant is the problem with people like you.
p1t1o ManOhMan • 9 days ago
What on earth makes you think accusing people of ignorance give your comments any credibility whatsoever?"people like you" - also an incredibly arrogant phrase.
ManOhMan p1t1o • 9 days ago
You can research my comments on your own. I don't care if you think I'm "credible". But if you're going to insult me, I'll respond is some sort of adequate measure. And yes, you're ignorant. You keep proving it by attacking me, and not what I said. Ciao.
p1t1o ManOhMan • 9 days ago
Alright, here we go:"all western countries should ban Muslims"Thats religious persecution. Whatever you think of religion, persecuting anyone is very wrong, obviously. If you think that it is ok, it is also judging a huge population of people by the actions of a few, which is abhorrent."considering they have declared war on us about 7500 times"Thats obvious gross exagerration which makes people wonder what else you have grossly exagerrated."their "holy" book and traditions clearly talk about killing those sane enough not to believe them."If you take a holy book literally, you are going to have to ban jews, christians and hindus as well. Thats most of the world."Islam is a barbaric, misogynist, tribal, backwards death cult that should be destroyed."Did you copy+paste an ISIS mission statement and just swap in the word "islam"?
ManOhMan p1t1o • 9 days ago
Alight, here we go:If I made the sign of the cross in Saudi Arabia I'd be killed or thrown in jail. So spare me your persecution crap.Muslim countries don't allow freedom of religion. Many subjugate and persecute women. Mohammed married a 6 year old girl. They believe rape of anyone not Muslis is fine because anyone not Muslim isn't human. Their religion , as you call it, specifically hates anyone not Muslim. So, using logic , allowing their freedom of religion will necessarily mean the persecution of everyone else. And indeed that is what their legal system, Sharia, is all about."Freedom of religion" cannot work when one specific religion, Islam, doesn't believe in it. All religions are not the same. So instead of getting on your little soap box understand that Islam is the reason why we have to ban Islam. It doesn't tolerate you, me, or anyone not Islamic. If I believed it was my religious right to rape and plunder people not in my religion, mutilate the reproductive organs of women, marry children, kill or persecute those who didn't believe in my religion, and throw gay men off buildings, you'd call me a monster. Well, that is what Islam believes. Those Islamic "values" are completely incompatible with the west, and the west has every right, as sovereign nations to keep them from coming here. You have a big beautiful internet that is free for you to research with (for now, the UN takes it over soon, thanks to people on the left like you). Muslim scholars aren't shy about what they believe in. I'd suggest the Middle East Media Research Institute and Jihad Watch.Anyway, I hope this explanation was edifying and that you get your head out of your arse. You're not dealing with Methodists here, you're dealing with a death cult that wants you dead.

"Freedom of religion" cannot work when one specific religion, Islam, doesn't believe in it.It doesn’t matter what followers of one religion feel about other religions or followers thereof. The concept is meant to protect members of any religion from being persecuted by the Govt (referring to the U.S. here) for their beliefs i.e. the Govt can’t advocate or mandate any one religion over another to its citizens. Obviously if one’s belief is that infidels and heretics should be killed (for example), the Govt will take action against you if/when you act upon that, but the persecution is for the action (violating the rights of another person), not the belief. What doesn’t work is when idiots think that their “religious freedom” entitles them to discriminate against others in their actions. When LAWS are made that condone that shit, that crosses the line and has no place in society.
ManOhMan Maggot • 9 days ago
Freedom of religion in the US constitution meant no state church, like the Church of England. It did not refer to "religions" that want to destroy freedom of expression. Why would our founders fight and die for freedom only to allow a religion in its borders that wants to take that freedom away? Sorry, you're wrong. And insane.Islam is not compatible with the west. It is a religion of violent conquest and submission. They'll be the first to tell you that. And so, they don't get to practice it freely here.Nice try, and nice name.
Maggot ManOhMan • 9 days ago
Why would our founders fight and die for freedom only to allow a religion in its borders that wants to take that freedom away? You say I’m wrong, but haven’t really opposed or refuted a single thing I said. You refer to the establishment clause (as did I), but it goes beyond that to cover free exercise. I also said free exercise has limits, which you've ignored in your rant. Religion in this context is simply arbitrary dogma. It is the fanatical followers of said dogma that want to take freedoms away from others, thinking that they are compelled to do so. There are fanatical Christians (for example) who want to do (and have done) the same thing, as justified (to them) by their own religion and interpretation of its dogmatic texts.Point being, not all followers are fanatics. An individual’s religious practice is what they personally make of it. To go on and on about “It is a religion of violent conquest and submission.”, quoting Quran passages so as to prove that, ignores this simple fact. It is kind of a pointless diatribe. I agree, they don’t get to practice THOSE elements freely. Duh, isn’t that exactly what I said? But anyone will tell you that they know plenty of Muslims who are “normal” upstanding citizens who behave within the country’s secular laws, just as they also know plenty of non-fanatical Christian or Jewish or whatever folks as well, who practice their religion in a similar way that is overall acceptable within society. They fit in to “the west” just fine. In the context of this list, if a person wants to be overly modest in public by not exposing any skin (regardless of whether that’s a religious edict or not), that’s their prerogative. If others force them to do that, that crosses the line. That all said, I personally think religion in general is bad for society, for the reasons you allude to – that it does foster a propensity for division and oppression (whether acted upon or not), and its willful ignorance hinders knowledge, discovery, and progress. At this point, all I’m saying is, logically, one should feel this way about ALL religions, not just Islam.
Maggot ManOhMan • 9 days ago
You have, what? Demonstrated an inability to discuss the topic intelligently beyond your own narrow and misguided position on it? Lol you’re not doing yourself or your argument any favors by playing your cards that way. You’re exhibiting some of the same characteristics that you profess to be railing against. Nice job, hypocrite.
p1t1o ManOhMan • 9 days ago
I dont disagree that the world would be a better place without religion...but you dont know much about the world do you? You've seen a few bad things and totally lost your objectivity. The UN is going to take over the internet? LULZ!
ManOhMan p1t1o • 9 days ago
Oh no, the world would be much better without Islam.I've been all over the world. And yes, if you read the news you would know that on October 1 the president plans to hand over control of the 'net to the UN.Lulz! You moron.
ManOhMan p1t1o • 9 days ago
Yes, that is so. You're one of the most ignorant people I've ever met. Almost as funny as it is sad. Douche.
kingnotail ManOhMan • 9 days ago
Douche? Says the guy with the new douchebag avatar. Didn't I tell you? Nobody gives a fuck about aborted foetuses; people do give a fuck about psychopaths who are enabled to commit mass murder by easy access to firearms...
p1t1o ManOhMan • 9 days ago
Because I dont share your opinion? Classic. I could literally type out your responses beforehand.
ManOhMan p1t1o • 9 days ago
Because you don't know what you're talking about and refuse to educate yourself. You're smugly ignorant, as I said originally. That's why.
p1t1o ManOhMan • 9 days ago
You use the word "ignorant" a lot dont you? Find yourself surrounded by ignorant people all the time? Often feel like you are the only person in the world who isnt an idiot? There's one obvious explanation for that.
ManOhMan p1t1o • 9 days ago
I'm calling apologists for Islam , including you, ignorant. And you're not helping yourself by doubling down on it. There is a difference between being stupid and ignorant, but with you I think you've nailed both of them. You lost the argument, yet can't concede I'm right. I use the right words for the right situation. You're ignorant.I feel sorry for you. I imagine you're a young guy, have never been anywhere, and never had to really engage in any real thinking. You probably don't even have a job, although I could be wrong on that.Oh well. In your more sober moments, go back and examine my reasoning and you'll find I'm right.
p1t1o ManOhMan • 9 days ago
Im curious, would you say I know quite a lot about the situation, or would you say I was.....?
kingnotail ManOhMan • 9 days ago
Please bog off back to crying over aborted foetuses, that no one cares about.
kingnotail ManOhMan • 9 days ago
All western countries should ban all superstition from any positions of influence, Islam Christianity, all of that shite
ManOhMan p1t1o • 9 days ago
A rational human being who actually knows what Islam says? Yes, I'm one of "them".
kingnotail ManOhMan • 9 days ago
PS what do you do for the 9/11 "anniversary"? Crack a bottle? Crack one off?
Anomandaris kingnotail • 8 days ago
Take a shit on the flag of Saudi Arabia, wrap it up, wrap bacon around it and mail it to the nearest Saudi consulate. Its 2 blocks from where Hillary lives. Easier to get campaign money if the Saudis are close.
