One telltale sign that Fall is upon us is when Starbucks start to roll out their famous red cups filled with their popular pumpkin spice latte. This is a fantastic drink to warm the soul on a cold Fall night, but if you don’t want to shell out a couple of bucks every day to get your fix, you can make it yourself at home. This is how:
• 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
• ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, plus more to garnish
• Freshly ground black pepper
• 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
• 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
• 2 cups whole milk
• 1 to 2 shots espresso or 1/3 to ½ cup strong coffee
• ¼ cup heavy cream, whipped into firm peaks
• ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, plus more to garnish
• Freshly ground black pepper
• 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
• 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
• 2 cups whole milk
• 1 to 2 shots espresso or 1/3 to ½ cup strong coffee
• ¼ cup heavy cream, whipped into firm peaks
1. Heat the pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, and a generous helping of black pepper in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it’s hot and looks cooked, about 2 minutes.
